Pines and Willows PMI Unit
The PMI unit is for persons with persistent mental illness. These include: schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, major depression, panic disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, and any other disorder which could lead to a chronic disability which is not a primary diagnosis of dementia. The PINES wing is designated to individuals over the age of 65. The WILLOWS wing is for those individuals under the age of 65.
Special programming dedicated to enhancing our residents’ lives and empowering them to return to the community or a lesser level of care is our goal, and so mental health groups are held every morning Monday through Friday, in addition to community living skills, relaxation exercises, stress management, physical exercise, journaling, educational films, friendship group, crafts and games, computer use, and a group specifically devoted to social and relationship skills.
