Colleen brings nursing and social services experiences to Country View; in the mental health field, long term care nursing, and also counseling in the private sector. Colleen obtained her Early Childhood Education, and Practical Nursing degrees from Kirkwood Community College. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a minor in Fine Art, and her Master’s degree in Social Work Administration; all from the University of Northern Iowa. She is a member of NAMI, and NASW. She serves on the boards of directors for Parent Share and Support, Building Direction for Families, and also on the advisory board for Industrial Technology at Oelwein High School.
Colleen has worked in the helping profession all her life, and is focused on enriching the lives of others, while assisting them to reach their highest potential. She enjoys learning from those she serves and researching new and innovative ways to help people. Colleen and her husband Dave grain farm in Northeast Iowa. They have two children, Benji and Mack. Colleen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, watching her sons’ sporting events, and volunteering in the community.
Carol brings experiences in hospital nursing, long term care nursing, social services and mental health to Country View’s leadership team. Carol obtained her BA in Social Work from UNI, working in community crisis stabilization for 7 years. She then obtained her Associate Degree of Nursing, with employment experiences in hospital nursing and long term care.
Carol is a member of the AANAC and is a Certified MDS 3.0 Resident Assessment.
Carol is mother of two daughters, Jennifer and Cassandra and grandmother to Trey. She and her husband Scott enjoy traveling on their motorcycles, with a special trip to Yellowstone National Park. She participates in local church outreach opportunities and national and international mission work. She has assisted with clean-up following Hurricane Katrina, and has continues involvement in Vineyard International missions work in Mazatlan and the church plant in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Her goals for the Nursing Department revolve around quality care provision and individualized care and services to enhance the residents of Country View.
Michelle has been employed with Country View since June 1988. She has a bachelor’s degree in Human Services and an Associates degree in Accounting.
Mike started working for Black Hawk County at the age of 16, at the Pine Crest Building as a receptionist answering the phones. Within a year, Mike transferred to the housekeeping department, and continued at Pine crest until it closed. He worked as a class 1 building cleaner at the Country View Care Facility initially, and then transferred to the Maintenance Department as a Maintenance Assistant, until 2002 when he took the position of Physical Plant Manager. Mike believes that with great direction and great staff, we have been making country view a great home for those in need.
Amanda has 15 years of long term care experience. She is a graduate of Allen College of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Amanda is a member of AANAC and is completing her certification for MDS 3.0 RAC-CT. Amanda is a certified educator of Dependent Adult Abuse and Child Abuse. Amanda lives in Waterloo and plans to continue her education and employment in the Cedar Valley. She enjoys traveling and animals.
Ellen has worked for Black Hawk Country for 33 years. Ellen started at the Black Hawk County Health Center (now known as Pinecrest) while she was a student at UNI as a Recreation Specialist. Ellen also completed her practicum at BHCHC. Ellen moved to Country View in October 1985 to assist in the preparation of the ICF/ID unit. Ellen continues to enjoy working at Country View with all the continuous changes over the years.
Ellen has one daughter and spends a lot of time with her at sporting events; especially soccer. Ellen is a certified soccer referee.
